I barely ever write reviews online but this once I feel I need to really write down about Sam's service as our pets are like our children and when we hand them over to a dog walker it really means everything to us. I hired Sam a few months ago on a 5 day per week basis as I am unable to take my two bull dogs out for walk regularly due to work commitments. She told me the walks will be times from when she is out of the door to when she gets back in. Over these months she has been starting the Tailster app when she is inside my house (her explanation was that outside the house she will not get good network and apparently the app isn't too good) and then returning back home from the walk on an average 4 minutes early (she did two 30 minutes walk a day so basically 8 minutes less walk per day) and despite my politely pointing out once a while that I feel the walks are shorter she has been continuing to give them shorter walks than promised. Recently I have been hearing from my neighbours that she stops and has chats with them so which means the walks were even smaller. Today finally after being quiet for several weeks I finally expressed to her in polite words that she needs to honour her promise about giving full walks to my dogs to which her flare up was a bit of a shock to me. I am so busy with my travels for work that I have never in the past months said a word to her and trusted her blindly and unhindered. I don't think I'm an unfair or nagging employer and I feel a fair amount of feedback on someone's service is well within the rights of any client. To have such a flare up on what I said to her and canceling the contract with some seriously curt words written to me I feel is just such a wrong way to deal with things when you are in the service industry. I would personally not recommend Sam to anyone if you wish for your dogs to get the amount of walk that you are really paying for.
Reply:"I will respond to this review accusation by accusation. 1. That I start the app within the house. This is incorrect on several levels - originally I was opening the app and connecting to the booking outside the door, as she has poor coverage in her house and hitting 'start' once I was outside. When she raised this with me a few weeks ago, I reverted to standing outside her house with the dogs and waiting for the app to start so that I can record the walk. 2. That I am returning them early. If I arrived at her house early, I would start the walk early and end it 30 minutes later. 3. Wasting time talking to her neighbors - I believe it is polite to speak to people who speak politely to you, and I would assume she'd prefer it if someone she was employing wasn't rude to her friends and neighbors. On the occasions that I did speak to her neighbors, the dogs would be walked extra. We complete the same two approximately 1.7km and 2km loop every morning and evening - the days where a conversation was had the same distance was covered. I used the GPS tracking app for this, and when the app was not working I would track on my own app to ensure a record of the walk taken. Finally, she has accused me of being 'curt' with her, I was perfectly polite and clear in my messages to her - when someone accuses me of something and I respond, this is not a 'flare up' it is a response. I offered a solution to the problem, and said that if she wasn't happy with that solution we should end the contract. In her response to me she also said that ending the contract would be an option. So I did. That's all there is to it."
